Upgrading to Premium Plan
-
I want to upgrade existing WordPress free website – ‘https://sharepointeducation.wordpress.com/’ to premium plan and the new domain will be ‘https://sharepointeducation.com/’. For this, I have below questions: –
1) How much space will be given in the Premium plan (For free website, it’s 3 GB).
2) What are the domain rates after one year (since for 1 year, domain is free).
3) Will I get cPanel kind of feature with the Premium plan, wherein I will have the ability to change the code (CSS etc.)
4) Since ‘sharepointeducation’ is a sub-domain, and I want to change it ‘https://sharepointeducation.com/’, will all my data will be saved OR do I need to export/import the data in the new domain.
5) After upgrading to premium plan, will all the links will be auto-converted with the new domain (for SEO) and traffic will be same as with the free website. I am bit worried about the traffic on my website. Please confirm. -
1) 13GB
2) Depends on the domain. See: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-pricing-and-available-tlds/
3) WordPress.com doesn’t use cPanel but you can use CSS with a Premium plan.
4) Upgrading from a free plan to a paid one won’t affect your content. You’ll just be able to have the domain of your choice as the primary domain.
5) There shouldn’t be any difference. People who may have saved your old address will be redirected to your new domain.
