Upgrading to the Personal Plan

    Hi there,

    So tomorrow I’m likely going to reach 1 million views (yay!!!) and with the Summer sale, upgrading to the Personal Plan definitely does seem like a reasonable option. However, I do have a question about it.

    Currently, I already have a custom domain. That renews in January 2019. I’m noticing that if I start my Personal Plan today, the price of that domain is excluded from the price of the plan.

    However, I seem to be able to buy the plan for two years, and it doesn’t seem the domain is excluded for the second year. Assuming my domain renews in January, would that mean I pay for my domain twice?

    Congrats on one million views! When you upgrade to the WordPress.com Personal plan we will “link” your domain to the plan so they always renew together going forward.

    Because you’ve already paid for 2019 we won’t charge you twice for this year’s domain renewal, we will, however, charge you for the second year renewal as part of the plan. Rest assured, you won’t have to pay for the domain twice.
