Upgrading your plan

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me. I have been blogging for 5 months now and I really want to upgrade my WordPress plan. I want to go to the £7.08 monthly one, the one that you have to pay yearly for. I don’t want to buy it and be thrown in the deep end, I wanted to talk to someone about it before that has even done this before or gone to the same plan that I want to go to. I want to know abit more information about it-
What happens after I buy the plan?
Will my site be the same or will it change?
Is it hard to get used to the new site?
is it worth it?I just sort of want to know a bit more about this plan and if anyone can help me please I would be grateful.

How domain mapping works
Registering an underlying .wordpress.com URL first is required for domain mapping. That underlying URL does not have to match the domain URL when you are domain mapping. What domain mapping does is providing a seamless redirect to the very same content under the new domain URL when a person clicks the old URL .wordpress.com to the original content. How to upgrade
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, select a plan and purchase upgrades at > Dashboard> Store > My Upgrades

Canceling and refunding upgrades
There are no pro-rated refunds so be clear on that. Refunds https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/ are time limited.- WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund from date of purchase on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.
- The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.
- It takes from 1 – 2 weeks or 7 – 10 business days for the refund to be received after canceling an upgrade and requesting one.
