Upload a tar.gz wordpress file

  Hi all, just trying to upload my old website backup via the import feature, but I receive a long error message. Any ways around this? Cheers

  Hi,
  Please unpack the tar.gz file and as long as it is XML format file, you will be enabled to import your old posts into the blog.

  For clarity (and posterity), can you post the error message you’re recieving when you try to do the import?
