Upload a theme

Hi,
I bought a theme on another website which was supposed to be compatible with my wordpress website (premium).
Now I cannot upload it.
Does anyone know why?Thank you very much in advance!

The theme that you’ve purchased is compatible with self-hosted WordPress.org sites. Your site is on WordPress.com, which is different from WordPress.com.
There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about the differences, please check the following article that details the differences: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org
On your WordPress.com site, you may only choose themes from our theme gallery at http://theme.wordpress.com . You cannot upload a third-party theme to WordPress.com.
