  how can I upload an .xls document into my blog?

  You can’t upload it. You can only upload images. You can paste HTML into a post/page, as an alternative solution.

  Or you could host the Excel somewhere else like http://fsphost.com, and then link to it from your blog. That’s what I do.

  (ie: I have a web site there http://one.fsphost.com/ottawamovies/)

  On second though, I don’t recomment fsphost.com, they nuked my site with absolutely no notification.

  Actually I thought *.xls’ were allowed. You upload them the same way as one would a picture.

  Just to clarify, more formats are allowed than images. *.pdf’s, *.mp3’s and *.txt’s come to mind.

  Feedback sent to get something offical from staff on the subject.

  .xls is not allowed – sorry.

  Permitted files:
  jpg jpeg png gif pdf doc ppt

  and txt files (thanks to drmike for the reminder!)

  Out of interest, if you allow .doc and .ppt files, why do you not allow .xls (and the OpenOffice equivalents)? They all have the same size and security issues I would have thought…

  It’s easy to convert .xls to .pdf Go to http://www.download.com/PDF-ReDirect/3000-6675-10255233.html and download PDF redirect. When you have the file open you’ll go to the print option and print directly into the PDF software which converts it so you can save any file type as a PDF.
