Upload blog to my hosting account using cPanel

  I am looking to create a new blog using wordpress.
  I got a dedicated server to upload the blog files.
  I got also a domain name for it.
  Do I need to pay the $99 for that blog?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.

  I am going to use my own domain for that blog.

  You have your own domain – you have your own server –

  You pay WordPress.COM nothing as you are not hosted nor is your domain name registered here. Please read all the links I gave you above.

  Paying $ 99 to WordPress.COM is wasted money for your needs – I am sure WordPress.COM would like the extra money – but they have a tip jar here somewhere you could use instead.

  You do need to pay your host and registrar whoever that is.

  One more question if I may.
  I got a blog with wordpress which I am paying $12 per year to renew. It used to be $10 per year.

  What is the difference between this service (the $12) and the $99?

  $12 = domain mapping = your site is still hosted by WordPress.com.

  the $99 is a package that includes domain mapping, CSS upgrade and several other things – they do a package deal to temp you to buy the package and not individual items – it does make sense if you need all the extra items you do save some money.
