Upload document text as post

    I’m brand new to WordPress and I’m curious if you can upload documents as a post. All I’m seeing is how to attach documents to a post. When you make a blog post, you have your content editor where you can type what you want to say and post it. But I’m typically posting things I’ve written elsewhere and I need the ability to upload, or copy/paste without the editor altering it. I just left Medium because there was no feasible way to post without typing everything anew. I am praying WordPress is different because I’m running out of platform options.

    So, you essentially wanting to copy and paste your document text content without altering the original formatting from the document, correct?

    You’re correct in that copy and pasting from a document does produce pretty messy HTML. However, there are some workarounds that may work for you. We provide some suggestions on our support page here:

    Not all the formatting you have from the document will carry over, but Chrome has been proven to be the most reliable in terms of retaining a good portion of the original formatting.
