upload external wordpress theme

  I am trying to import a theme I bought from ThemeForest. I am using a basic wordpress package. Is there a way I can do this? Thank you.

  No, there is no way you can do this. Those themes, like plugins, are only for WordPress.ORG sites.

  Do you mean WordPress.com blogs>? They can’t use plugins or external themes. Not even if they get a custom URL. That’s because we share the backbones of our blogs and they can’t be split off in this way; if you introduce a security risk, everyoneone else suddenly has that risk.

  Buy hosting elsewhere, install software from WordPress.org, and away you go.

  I downloaded a form that said I could import an external theme as long as it was created for WordPress. I am looking at a WordPress created “how to” import a new theme here http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes#Adding_New_Themes

  However, I do not see the option to insert new theme.

  You are reading instructions for a WordPress.ORG install on the WordPress.ORG site – – then you are trying to install a theme on the WordPress.COM site – won’t work at all
