Upload failure in wordpress

    I started a wordpress blog on July 1. July 3 the entire blog just vanished. I got it back via my host. The problem I have has to do with uploading pictures from my desktop. It worked the first time on my first post. However, the second time I tried to upload a picture it stopped working, even trying the browser method does not work. I’m perplexed and so is the Host where I purchased the domain and started using the product (wordpress) that they had available. Any help would be great.
