upload file that is not "media"

  Hi I would like to upload a .zip file that may be downloaded from my website by visitors. Is this possible? Because it seems that only “media-files” can be uploaded. Thanks for the info.

  No zip files allowed – if it is not in the list of approved files you can’t do it

  Here is the support document listing acceptable file types.

  With unapproved file types, you can use an online file sharing service such as box.net to host the files and then link to those from within your pages or posts as required.

  There is even a box.net widget you can put into your side bar.
