upload .m4a audio file

    I created a .m4a to upload for a school project. I am unable to upload it and receive the error that I am not allowed to upload this type of file. Why not? And how do I get around this? I need to have it on my page as this is my graduate project

    Hi there in order to upload an audio file directly to your WordPress.com website requires a paid upgrade plan. Instead of uploading here, you can upload it to a 3rd party site like Soundcloud and then embed it.
