upload new media on 2.7

  k fine folks – i love the word press and the new 2.7 version… I host my own website and domain to that end the media upload doesnt work as fine as the domain.wordpress.com site…

  Primarily the uploader won’t configure and recognize the directory uploads properly…

  I have the directory created, I have it writeable, editable etc etc and in the uploading files section listing wp-content/uploads as the default – everything skippy right? nope

  I get this error when I try to upload using the media loader: public_html/wp-content/uploads/2008/12. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

  I am baffeled… I am off to work – can anyone help?
