upload theme

I have purchased a third-party theme and I want to upload it onto my dashboard. However, when I click on Appearance–>Themes there is no link at the top to “Add New” or “Install” a theme. How do I install a third-party theme?

Please note that themes can’t be uploaded to sites hosted on WordPress.com. They can only be uploaded to self-hosted blogs running on WordPress.org software. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here:

Thank you. I am still confused how to start using wordpress.org I purchased my domain name through wordpress.com and I haven’t started blogging yet so I don’t need to pay for a “guided transfer” How do I start using my already purchased domain on the wordpress.org site?
