upload theme

  I am attempting to move my website from wix to wordpress, but would like to keep my website live while creating this one. Is there a way to build this website without paying for hosting right away? It is prompting me to upgrade when I try to upload the Divi Theme.

  While you can build your website using free themes at WordPress.com under the free plan, you would need the business plan to add a custom theme or a theme purchased from somewhere else.

  Hi there,

  Just wanted to add a bit of info to akumarjain’s reply.

  You do have to have a Premium or Business plan already paid before you can access those features. However, you can just leave the site name as lovethebagblog.wordpress.com until you are finished developing the site. Then you can transfer it over to your final domain name. That way you will still have your old site for reference as long as you need it.

  Also, on the settings page, you can mark your site as private or hidden while you are developing it. See info on that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
