upload theme from my other site

    I want to use the same theme on this site as I have on my lindemanarchives site. How can I upload it?

    Hi there,

    From looking at your WordPress.com account, centralwashingtonantiquefarmequipmentclub.wordpress.com is the only site I see listed, so I am not familiar with the site you’ve mentioned as “lindemanarchives site” can you tell us the URL of the site so we can look it up?

    On WordPress.com you can use any theme you see listed here: https://wordpress.com/themes/

    However there are also 3rd party themes (created by other companies) that are designed to work with WordPress. It is not possible to upload a theme like this on WordPress.com unless you upgrade to our WordPress.com Business Plan, which includes the ability to upload themes/plugins and access source code via FTP.

    The site that has the theme I want to use is: lindemanarchives.com the theme is Lind version 2.1 and I am thinking I need to find the zip file for it there but I am lost.

    As staff-totoro already said, you can’t use third party and custom themes on the wordpress.com platform unless you upgrade to the Business Plan, https://wordpress.com/pricing/.
    As that Lind theme is a paid theme, you just can’t use it on any site. Usually when you buy a theme, you buy a license for 1 site.

    As far as how to upload it, you need to have the original theme .zip file. If you don’t have that, contact the theme developer to get another copy. Then you can follow the steps here to add it to your site. Again, if you don’t have the Business upgrade in place, you won’t be able to do this.

    Note that any Google searches I made regarding this theme is that it is no longer free – so you may need to pay for another license if you want to use this theme here at WordPress.com.
