Upload themes

    Hi, I am Qinan and really need some help here for a newbie. I was trying to change my blog’s themes. I already downloaded my new themes (.zip) from some themes developer and it was ready to upload. But at the dashboard > appearance > themes, i can’t find ‘add new’. I’ve search around the internet ‘how to upload & install themes’ yet all of them shows me the ‘add new’ button in their dashboard. And still, i can’t find it in my dashboard. Anyone? Thank you before.

    The only themes that you can use here at WordPress.com are found here: http://wordpress.com/themes/

    You aren’t able to install or upload any other themes.

    What’s the site that you need help with?

    You can only install themes if you have a self-hosted website using WordPress.org. WordPress.com (here) and WordPress.org are very very different. You can read more about that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    This COM-vs-ORG dichotomy of WordPress is the dumbest thing I have ever come across for a very very long time! It is confusing, it causes countless people to waste hours on something that should have been made loud and clear everytime the word Wordpres is uttered (Are you SURE you know that COM and ORG are TWO DIFFERENT AND MUTUALLY INCOMPATIBLE beasts?!?), and it is just plain dumb.
