Uploaded pictures can't be chosen/don't show up when wanting them to add

I just spent around 2 hours uploading a lot of pictures in a public library because the wifi in my hostel sucks.
After being finished with that an wanting to start writing new posts, I wanna add a picture to the post by clicking on the media button but not all my pictures are shown here!
When checking my media files on my profile they all show up and also in the iPhone-App they are shown but I don’t want to write all my posts on my phone.
Is there any solution to that problem?

I feel your frustration. I want to add that I’m experiencing a similar issue, in the hopes that a solution is found soon!
I uploaded about 30 photos to my media library last night. I double checked it before I saved my draft of my newest post, all of the images (and past ones) were in the library. Then today I went to finish my newest post (still in drafts at this point) and all of my media has disappeared with the exception of 13 of the new photos I uploaded. SO, I re-added the rest of my photos to the library and now I’ve just checked it again and it has only saved 13 photos again.
Previous posts are still showing the media/photos just fine so it’s not like they are actually gone or broken links. But they are also nowhere to be found in my media library.

Same problem here. All but the last twenty photos have disappeared from my media library since Thursday night (and there were a couple hundred images there). They aren’t showing as grey squares or anything–just are gone. I tried deleting the existing images so I could reload and not have doubles, and then it said my media library was empty–though the previous photos are still appearing in the blog entries themselves. When I re-loaded the last 55 photos, the percent-used of my allowed storage increased, but when I exited and re-loaded my site as an experiment, all but those same twenty original photos disappeared again. I find it interesting that the cutoff point of what I can see is the same again, and that my storage is clearly being used…but where did they go?

Same problem for me.
Fortunately, photos are still displayed in articles but I only have my last 20 pictures added in the library…
I don’t know if I should reupload all of my pictures or if they are going to reappear soon in the library.
As they are still in the articles, I suppose they are not deleted. Maybe, it is just a bug…Unfortunately, we cannot contact wordpress support till September 22 as it is written on the Help page…

Hi again,
I just found all of my pictures using the ‘wp-admin’ URL.name_of_your_account.wordpress.com/wp-admin
Then, you go to Medias and you will be able to find them.

wp-admin worked for me! It’s only temporary until support gets back up and running, but I was able to at least add media through wp-admin and then I can flip back to the “new editing” to reformat because I find the wp-admin a little difficult to navigate (or I’m used to the other way). Still no significant media showing up in the “new editing” format though so I’m sure it’s just a bug.

Found another way to keep using the new editor… If you know the title of the pic you want to use. Go to the media library and even though you can only see twenty pics, type the title of the pic you want in the search bar and you can find it =]
