Uploading & using a Different Theme

  To start us off WordPress have kindly given us a few themes, can I get a new theme and how do i upload it, iv’e been looking on http://themes.wordpress.net/ they have loads i wanna try out, so is this possible or does WordPress have others i can access.

  You can’t use those themes on a WordPress.com blog; our selection of themes is limited to what’s on your Presentation page. If there’s one you’re dying to have that’s not on the list, search the forums for that name; it’s possible other people have requested it too. If that is the case, send in a Feedback with a pointer to that thread.

  First, to be sure you’re in the right Forum: this Forum for blog hosted on WordPress.com –you aren’t hosting it yourself? Self-hosting Forum is: WP.org

  For WP.com: changing the theme couldn’t be any easier (or more fun): on the Dashboard
  >click on “Presentation”
  there you will see all the themes available to us. Click on one: then you can go back to your blog and see if you like it.

  If so: go back to “Presentation” and click on>”widgets” (–on the narrow part of the Dashboard) to add whatever you want, including a widget for “flickr” –for photos, “custom image header” if you want your own image. Then “save” and you’re done.

  If none of the available themes makes you happy, you may post a request that “x theme” be added to the group. –No certainty that it will be added, but Admin has announced that 100 themes will be added this year. Have fun!
