Uploading a backup to new wordpress account

    Hello
I am after some help with some websites backups, currently our 3 websites are with a design agency but we are looking to bring them in house, we have been sent the backup files from the agency but are unsure how to get them up onto our a new fresh account.

    Site: https://playgroundfacilities.co.uk/.
    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Unknown
    Correct account: Unknown

  • https://www.playgroundfacilities.co.uk/ is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.

Would you mind clarifying what you’re planning to do?

Do you want to use those backups on https://playgroundfacilities.co.uk/ or host the sites here at WordPress.com instead?

Ah i see, in which case im a little further confused haha.

Basically the current set up is that the site is hosted via Godaddy and the current designers access and edit the site via wordpress (Or as you say using the open-source wordpress software) Im not sure if this is all somthing set up via godaddy ?

We wish to contiune to host via godaddy as the godaddy account credentials are held in house, But migrate the site from its current word press account to our new one which can then be managed and edited in house and direct the hosting to the new site destination. If that makes any sense at all ?

    Best Regards J

    Thanks for clarifying!

We’re the support forums for sites hosted here at WordPress.com. What you’re using is the WordPress software (from WordPress.org) at GoDaddy.

You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

If you want to continue hosting your sites with GoDaddy, you would need to reach out to their support for help here.
