  Can I upload my logo to my wordpress.com site? I am using the Journalist V3 theme.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there, Yes talking about Journalist V1.3 below is a link to my site. I actually have 2 questions.

  1. Am I able to upload a logo
  2. On my pages can I have an image gallery that uses a lightbox plugin rather than having them listed down the page.
  So either 1 large image will appear then you roll over smaller images to see them big or they all start small and you roll-over to see them big?

  Also were is a good place to pick up CSS coding

  I am a beginner with wordpress. Thanks,

  1. Journalist does not have a customizable header, so the easiest thing would be to put the logo into a text widget at the top of the sidebar if it isn’t too wide. Otherwise you would have to have the paid CSS upgrade and CSS editing experience in order to put a header image at the top of the Journalist.

  2. We cannot use plugins here at wordpress.COM: http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/ .

  CSS is theme specific so it varies from author to author and theme to theme. Unless the CSS is specifically designed to work with a specific theme here at wordpress.COM (theme here are modified from the original to work on the software here) then it will very likely blow up your blog. What you have to do is modify the CSS for the particular theme you are using.

  If you search the support pages and FAQ’s for “CSS” you will get more information on what is and is not possible with the paid CSS upgrade, and also links to some online tutorials and information sources.

  WordPress provides a free preview function in the appearance > edit css page where you can try out and preview changes before purchasing the upgrade. There is no official support for the CSS upgrade and few here with more than moderate experience with it. That said, it isn’t rocket science, and with a little work with tutorials online, and some playing around most people are able to make the changes they want.

  Thank you for that.. can you tell me if i am able to change the colour of the type in the Chaotic Soul for the headers from #bd934f to #4284e and if so the best way this can be done.. Thanks

  Which headers? The ones on the posts/page titles or on the sidebar or both?

  Sidebar titles are under: #sidebar h3

  Post titles are under: .post h2 a

  Replace the existing color code with the new one.

  I am referring to both the headers in the side bar/pages and posts

  I have tried replacing the existing code with new code and when I save changes nothing happens? Is their a way to override the style sheet? or does it not let you change the theme? thanks

  My suggestion is to always only put in the edit box the actual sections and definitions that you are changing and then make sure that “add to existing… is selected before saving.

  Put this

  .post h2 a {
  color:#4284e;
  }

  and this

  #sidebar h3 {
  color:#4284e;
  }

  in the window and click preview and they should change.

  @gardensbyted, I just noticed that your color code is missing a character as hex codes are always 6 (excluding #) and yours is 5. Sorry I should have noticed that sooner. That is why it is not working. It is being stripped out since it is in error.
