Uploading a pdf file into media library

  I have been trying to import a pdf file onto my site. Eventually I want to import a 28 page monthly magazine. To check the process I decided to try one page from the magazine in pdf format. I have dropped the file into the media upload page, but although a media file is being created, it has no content. When I try to insert it into one of my pages there is only a short title relating to the file, no text or pictures.

  This is the first difficulty I have experienced uploading into the media library. Usually I upload jpegs. I also checked that the drop down menu in the media library page is set at ‘media’ .

  Hi Sue,

  Please note that when you upload a PFD document, it will not be embedded onto the page. It will only add a download link. If you want to embed the PDF to your actual page/post, I highly recommend using a third party application as seen here:
