Sometimes my media comes into WordPress in the wrong orientation. I cannot explain why.

I correct them within the wp-admin dashboard (choice at bottom of current menu or reachable at yoursiteurl/wp-admin.) under media -library. When you get to your library, click on the image. Under it you will see an “Edit Image” button. Click that.

Now above the image you will see an icon to flip the image from portrait to landscape and one for landscape to portrait. Click these until your image is in correct orientation. When it is correct, click on save.

When you go back to your post to insert your image, choose the image from your media library again, it *should* be correct. [i have had some stubborn ones that I have had to take to 3rd party software to re-orient, but this usually works.]

Please confirm if this works for you.
