Uploading a purchased Word press theme.

I’m attempting to upload my own theme (one purchased from a developer), and 24 hours later on the upload screen I’m still met with “We’re processing your import now and will send you an email when it’s all done. If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours, please contact support, and we’ll get everything fixed.”.
Does anyone have any pointers please?

Hi jamesturner174, you have posted in a WordPress.com forum, but it sounds like you are talking about a site that is not using WordPress.com.
WordPress.com is a place where you can create a blog without having to manage the WordPress software yourself. One of the tradeoffs is that you are not allowed to upload your own themes or plugins and you can only use the ones vetted and approved for the WordPress.com network. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ to learn more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
That said, I will try to help and then direct you to the WordPress.org forums for further help if you’re still having trouble.

That error references an import, that’s something different than uploading a theme. The import function is for content. To upload a theme in a WordPress.org setup, go to Appearance > Themes > Add New (button at the top) > Upload Theme (button at the top) and upload the zip file provided to you by your developer. Note that this is not an option for WordPress.com sites.

If you are still having trouble after trying the Upload Theme button in the Appearance section, you should try is contacting the developer you got the theme from directly. Let them know the exact steps you tried and include a copy of the file you used when you email them.

On the other hand, if http://energyconsultancyservices.wordpress.com/ is your blog and you are trying to use WordPress.com, then please note that it is not possible to upload a custom-built theme here and you will either need to switch to a WordPress.org setup to use it or choose one of the WordPress.com themes from http://wordpress.com/themes
