Uploading a table of pdf links to a page?
-
I have about 280 pdf files I want to upload to one of my pages. I can see how to have them listed on the page, but that would be quite a long list to scroll through. I tried uploading them into a ‘gallery’ with 4 columns wide, but the gallery would not show up (I presume galleries are only for pictures). Is there a way to have the links appear as a table, a drop-down menu, or some other more convenient way than just a vertical list down the page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, galleries are for image files.
Dropdowns aren’t possible.
To create a table, you need to switch the editor to html and use table code. In it’s simplest form, a 4-column table is:
<table border="0"> <tr><td>DATAr1c1</td><td>DATAr1c2</td><td>DATAr1c3</td><td>DATAr1c4</td></tr> <tr><td>DATAr2c1</td><td>DATAr2c2</td><td>DATAr2c3</td><td>DATAr2c4</td></tr> <tr><td>DATAr3c1</td><td>DATAr3c2</td><td>DATAr3c3</td><td>DATAr3c4</td></tr> [etc.] </table>Where I write DATAetc., you must paste the links to each pdf. Various refinements are possible, to change spacing etc.
If you are a PC user, an easier alternative is to download and use Windows Live Writer.
Even with a 4-column table, 70 rows is still rather long. If the pdfs can be arranged in groups, it would probably be better to create several shorter tables and separate them using this:

I used WIndows Live Write to create a table. It was a bit time consuming getting all the links inside, but it did work. http://broadlandsspectator.wordpress.com/historical-broadlands-ill-village-meeting-minutes-1902-1937/
One Question regarding the ‘next page’ tag: I switched to html view and inserted the next page tag. When adding stuff to the second or subsequent pages, do I insert it right under the next page tag on the first page, or is an actual new page created that I have to edit?

Great.
With so many links, of course it was time consuming; assembling all the html manually would probably have been even more so.
As far as the editor is concerned, it’s all one page, split into sections: you continue adding stuff after the nextpage tag (or you insert all the stuff first, then paste nextpage tags wherever you like).
