Uploading a theme

  I would like to upload this theme: http://wordpress.org/themes/the-newswire
  For some reason, I can not find the button to “add a new theme” in my admin screen. What can I do?

  You can give up.

  There is no “add new theme” button on a WordPress.com blog, because we cannot add external themes. Those are for WordPress.org blogs, as indicated by the fact you found that at WordPress.ORG.

  We can only choose from the themes on the dashboard Themes page.

  It seems like you may have a bit of confusion between WordPress.com and WordPress.org–you wish to use a WordPress.org theme with your WordPress.com blog. The Newswire theme is only available if you have a self-hosted WordPress.org blog (what is the difference?).

  If you have your heart set on that particular theme, you will need to investigate moving your blog to WordPress.org. Before you do that, however, I invite you to spend some time and consider the 289 basic and premium WordPress.com themes available in the Theme Showcase. You’ll most likely find a free or premium theme that will give you the look you want without having to go through all the steps involved with setting up a self-hosted blog.
