uploading a theme from elegantthemes.com

  I just bought a theme from elegantthemes.com. Their instructions for uploading my theme are as follows:

  1. open my wordpress.com dashboard
  2. select “Appearances” and then “Themes”
  3. Click “Install themes”
  4. Click “Upload”

  Seems simple. But Im using your trial version to see if this all works and I just read that you DONT work with 3rd party themes. Does that include elegantthemes.com? How do I upload a theme that I have in a zip file from elegantthemes???

  Hello! If you’d like to use custom themes you will need to use the self-hosted version of WordPress (WordPress.org has more information.) If you choose to stick with WordPress.com you can view all of the available themes here: http://theme.wordpress.com/

  And if you do decide to stick with WordPress.com, ask Elegant Themes for your money back.

  If their instructions really say “Open your WordPress.com dashboard” then they’d better change that.
