Uploading a theme from outwith WordPress

  I have purchased a theme I wish to upload to my WordPress account but the ‘upload’ link (WP Admin > Appearance > Themes) doesn’t appear. Do I have the wrong account type (FREE) or an older version of WordPress? Help please.

  Hi,

  Unfortunately, you won’t be able to upload your own theme to a WordPress.com account as custom themes are not supported. You can read more about the policy here.

  I’ve had a word with a colleague – all is good. I now realise I have to host the theme myself.
