uploading a theme not purchased from wordpress

how do I upload a wordpress theme from mojo themes? I’ve been messing around trying to follow the steps on the video from mojo before i actually buy the wordpress theme that I want so I’ll know how to set it up. the video shows an upload theme button after you click theme under appearance when I do it on wordpress no such thing happens. Do I need the premium plan in order to upload an outside theme?

Hello :)
Since your blog is on WordPress.com, that means you can’t apply themes from other providers.
Blogs with WordPress.org are the ones that have that functionality, but WordPress.com still has plenty of awesome themes to choose from.

WordPress.com sites can only use themes taken from here: https://wordpress.com/themes/
Even if you signed up for the Premium plan, only themes made by WordPress are allowed for use on WordPress.com sites.
When Mojo Themes mentions that a theme is available for use with WordPress, it’s referring to WordPress.org. If you’d really like to use the theme you’ve mentioned, you’ll have to sign up for a WordPress.org site instead, and apply it there.
Does that make things a little clearer? Please don’t hesitate if you need a bit more explanation.
