Uploading Audio

    I am looking to host various mp3’s on my blog for download. My goal is to have an mp3 that when clicked on would play on their defult player. I am also looking for the most uncomplicated way. I am not looking to have a player on my blog or creating a download link. Would my best option be to buy a space upgrade? Sorry if I am unclear but I am new to the blogging community and just learning. here is an example of a site that has what I am looking for. http://funky16corners.wordpress.com/ Any help is greatly appreciated.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here – or link your nickname to your blog as explained in the Sticky “8 Things to Know“. We often need that to give a relevant answer.

    The “most uncomplicated way” is the standard WP audio player. After you upload an mp3, you copy its URL and simply paste it in the post or page editor using this formula (called “shortcode”):

    [audio URL_HERE]

    or:

    [audio=URL_HERE]

    This has nothing to do with the space upgrade. The only difference is that with the space upgrade you can upload the mp3s in your own blog; without it, you upload them in an outside host. (Has to be a host that provides direct URLs – e.g. Fileden or GetDropBox.)

    Here’s my exact URL- http://tuba2000.wordpress.com/
    It looks like your second option is what I am looking for. I would like to host the mp3’s on my blog without an outside host. Exactly like my example blogs does.

    You’re wrong re the example you linked to: the mp3s aren’t hosted in the blog. If you click on one of the links there, you’ll see that the URL you get is that of another site, not of the blog.

    So perhaps you’re mistaking hosting with posting. I understand you want your mp3s to be playable/downloadable in/from your blog. That’s not hosting in the blog: hosting is where the original files are stored. When you use the WP audio player as I explained above, it plays the file no matter where the original is stored: if you upload it in your blog, it’s stored in your blog’s media library, and you get the URL from there; if it’s stored in another site, you get the URL from that site. Same thing.

    And perhaps I didn’t make another detail clear: the hosts I mentioned are for free.
