Uploading avatar/gravatar results in "close window if it doesn't close"

  can’t upload avatar
  I click on ‘change gravatar’ (I don’t have one, yet) and it opens a window that says ‘if window doesn’t close, close window’ and it goes back to starting point. Can’t seem to get to where I can accomplish this. I’m new to wordpress. If I’m successful in learning/using it, I want to start upgrading, but need to be sure I can actually use it before I start spending $$! Thanks.

  It sounds like you might be having an issue with your browser.

  Appreciate your help, Andrew. I checked that I have the latest browser version (IE10), cleared cache and cookies, and even tried using Firefox, all to no avail. I realize I have a long way to go in learning and becoming effective in WordPress. But at this point, I still get a page that either opens then closes, or opens and asks me to close it, so still can’t upload avatar/gravatar.
