Uploading Custom Header Trouble
-
Whenever I try to upload my custom header that I created in paint, I get the message:
“File type does not meet security guidelines. Try another.”
How can I fix this?
Thankyou!

Um, telling us about the file would be a start.
Filename including extention, file size in pixels, file size in kb please.

You can’t upload a bitmap. You will have to convert it to something else (FAQ entry here: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/07/what-filetypes-can-i-upload/ )

Yep, change to .jpg or .gif (I believe .png too) .bmp tend to be rather large in file size, which is probably the reason it’s not allowed. For the dimensions of the images on a blog, the other file types will be just as clear.

Programs like Photoshop can do .png too. I’d suggest a free image manipulation program called GIMP http://www.gimp.org/ It’s a fully featured editor. Far more advanced than MSPaint, with much better results….with Script Fu you can create banners / headers in a snap, with no prior skills.
