uploading doc docx files

  I am a writer. I have previously uploaded existing Word files into New Post but am unable to do this at present. I am attempting to do this via Media. It allows me to pick up jpegs and place them but the Word files appear only with their titles but no content. What is going on?

  Hi there. Word documents can’t be embedded inside a post. If you upload them to the media library and insert them into a post you will end with a link to the document that users can then click to either read or download the document: http://en.support.wordpress.com/uploading-documents/
