  What types of files are you trying to add? Here is a list of accepted filetypes on WordPress.com:

  Hi @hvrsp

  WordPress.com does not allow the addition of plugins, those will only work on WordPress.org sites.

  If you, as the website author, needs to upload files, then the information @geoffreyshilling provided above will point you in the right direction.

  If you are looking to have your website visitors upload files into your WordPress.com site, that’s not possible right inside WordPress.com due to security issues. (You don’t want to risk someone uploading a file that create a problem.)

  I know of two options to accomplish this:

  1. You can switch to a self-hosted WordPress site (also known as WordPress.org) where such plugins are permitted.

  2. You can use JotForm and integrate that with your WordPress.com account. You can read about the JotForm integration at https://en.support.wordpress.com/forms/jotform/

  It’s been a few years since I used it, but I have successfully used the JotForm to Dropbox integration to allow people to send files via the form. JotForm talks about integrations at https://apps.jotform.com
