Uploading html or .pdf pages

  is there a way to
  1.upload a pdf (html would be even better) and store it on the site
  2.make it visible to users, but
  3.not have it appear in the Pages widget or in any menus that show pages?

  Yes, use Vodpod. I believe you have to use the Button rather than the Widget (a forum search should explain the difference) but you can indeed do it, only via Vodpod.

  I hope rabbiart has more luck with it than I did. I can’t even get the vodpod button to put a video into my .com blog, much less a pdf, or even a text file.

  The bad news is that WordPress has asked (told) vodpod to limit their widget to flash video only, so it will no longer work as it says in this thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=22843&replies=29
