Uploading image fatal error

  Hello,

  I am new to wordpress and want to love it. I am very frustrated right now. I’m unable to upload pics from my Sony Cybershot.
  I get this error after I upload: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 68681728) (tried to allocate 18432 bytes) in /home/dfoltess/public_html/prologueprofiles.com/wp-includes/media.php on line 258

  Please let me know how to proceed. Thanks you.

  A little more info, an image is 4.1 MB, 4608 x 3456. I would not want the image to appear that big on my site, I would resize it to make it smaller, but if a user clicked on it they would be sent to the page where it lives and could view it in full size.
