uploading images

i am using the free wordpress and i want to upload photos form my computer. i was sent some good intructions but it refers to the ‘add medai’ button on the tool bar. i do not have an ‘add media’ button on my tool bar???

The files can be uploaded from your computer directly in to a post or page or the media library itself.
Could you send me a screen shot of what you see when you try following these instructions? I’m curious to see where you are at. The screen shot can be added with a third party link in to your reply, use something like droplr.
