uploading images to gravatar fails

  When I upload an image to gravatar.com, to use as Gravatar, I see the image I’ve uploaded in the cropper, but after pressing “Crop and Finish!”, I’m taken back to the start. I expected to get to select the X-Rating level, but instead end up here: https://secure.gravatar.com/emails

  I’ve tried by uploading file from my computer, and also by providing a URL to an identical file: exact same issue (after cropper I’m taken back to the start).

  I did successfully upload an image to My Profile, visible under https://secure.gravatar.com/profiles/edit/#your-images but the Gravatar upload image service seems to be broken at the moment.

  I’m uploading a transparent PNG, of 68 KB file size. It looks perfectly alright in the cropper tool.

  I’ve uploaded an image 4 times with 4 different formats, jpg gif png and … the only one that shows up in the crop tool is the png. Then when I click ok the next page says Whoops it seems no image has been uploaded … what the …

  It is further distressing that no one has given you any help so why should i figure they will help me.
