Uploading images to media library not working

  Trying to upload images into the media library, so they can be added to the post.
  My images are JPG files, resized to make them smaller, the internet connection is good. So, what could be the problem? I use Chrome or the Windows 10 browser.

  After posting the above message, I managed to upload images by going through the Admin page where I found the image uploader. (Previously, I had always uploaded to the media library through the link on the edit page).
  It worked then, but its not working today. Need help, please.
