Uploading images/media issues – HTTP error

  I searched for this topic but all posts are closed.

  My blog was fine a month ago, but today, I tried to upload images. I tried the fixes mentioned in previous posts:

  * clear browsing history
  * switch browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera: all have the same problems)
  * my computer is updated
  * changed image size
  * all images are jpeg

  The images won’t load, seem stuck, and I received this error message: “HTTP error”

  (all current images are fine, thank goodness)

  I hope someone can help!!

  That error usually points to a connectivity issue or a browser issue.

  Make sure you are running an up to date browser version found at http://browsehappy.com and make sure you have third party cookies enabled. https://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/#how-do-i-enable-third-party-cookies

  Read all the tips here https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/ Try clearing your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
  Disable any adblocker browser add-ons. Disable all browser addons and extensions.
  Try using another browser.

  If you are not successful please post this specific info here:
  (a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
  (b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/

  P.P.S. Will please also state what kind of image file you are trying to upload. The accepted file types https://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/#images are:
  Images
  .jpg
  .jpeg
  .png
  .gif

  Hi timethief – so nice to text with you again :)

  I did see all those links previously, thank you. I am using my desktop computer, windows 10 to connect to the Internet. I did go to browsehappy.com and I am using Chrome (updated).
  My images are all jpegs and optimized.

  I called my Internet provider yesterday, and they said there are issues in my neighbourhood, so despite everything I did, it was a connectivity problem as you said!

  This morning, everything is back to normal.

  I have changed this topic to “resolved” on the side bar.
