uploading media
-
I am trying to upload a picture from my computer to my media. I’ve successfully uploaded two pictures today, but the third gets me only the message ‘1 file could not be uploaded because an error occurred while uploading.’ I have no idea what’s wrong. How can I figure out what the error is so I can upload the picture?

Hi,
You might want to try clearing your browser’s cache. You can find the instructions to do so here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
It’s also important to ensure your images are optimized for online use:
Hope this helps :)

This doesn’t help me. I’ve cleared my cache, and I optimized my picture before saving it, the same as the other pictures as I uploaded (which worked). It would really help if I had a message telling me exactly what the problem is with the picture.

Hi there,
What type of file is the image you are trying to upload, e.g. JPEG, PNG, GIF, etc?
And what is the size of the file?
Besides clearing the browser cache, can you please try restarting your computer and also unplug your router for a few seconds, in case the problem is something that got stuck in the connection cache for either of those devices?

Thanks, PNG is a supported file type so there shouldn’t be any issue there. Have you tried the suggestions @kokkieh mentioned above? These are the instructions for clearing your browser cache:

thanks for your help. I had already cleared my cache, and this morning restarted my computer, and afterwards was able to upload my photo.

If restarting the computer helped, then it was probably a problem with the computer’s DNS cache. Thanks for letting us know it’s working now.
