Uploading MP3 files

  I recently purchased the Space Upgrade so that I could upload MP3 files to the blog. Are we allowed to upload files that have purchased (from iTunes, Amazon, etc.) This is solely for listening purposes, not advertising, etc. I just wanted to make sure there weren’t any copyright issues…

  I think it’s best to go to Staff to get an answer on copyright issues. This is because it’s not likely Volunteers ie. your fellow bloggers who are answering forum questions want to risk being perceived to be interpreting the TOS. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

  Thank you. Can you remind me since it’s been a while since I’ve sent a question to the staff…does their response get sent to my email directly?

  Yes, when you click the link above and provide details including your email address a support ticket is created and Staff will email you.

  What’s linked to your wordpress.com username is not a wordpress.com blog. Worse still on this forum where signature link drops are not allowed you are doing that.Please stop.

  @timethief, I used to think the forum here wouldn’t allow you to post anything unless you have wordpress.com blog under your username (or no blog at all). Something must have changed recently.

  These are my observations:
  (1) In order to post a comment on a wordpress.com blog one does not need to be an actual blogging member and of this community. Technically one needs either open ID and/or a wordpress.com account ie. a username.

  (2) In order to function is a user role (Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor) on a wordpress.com blog one does not need to be an actual blogging member and of this community. Technically one must have a wordpress.com account.

  (3) In order to use the Akismet plugin on a wordpress.org install one does not need to be an actual blogging member and of this community. Technically one must have a wordpress.com account.

  (4) In order to use the wordpress stats plugin on a wordpress.org install one does not need to be an actual blogging member and of this community. Technically one must have a wordpress.com account.

  (5) Dashboard > Users > Your Profile … Take note that the word “Website” rather than the words “WordPress.com blog URL” is what appears on this page where we are intended to link our blogs to our username.

  (6) The number of wordpress.ORG bloggers who have “empty” wordpress.com blogs linked to their wordpress.com usernames (see 1 – 4) above posting to this forum appears to be increasing.

  (7) The number of wordpress.ORG bloggers who have linked their wordpress.com names to business sites that are not hoested by wordpress.com is increasing.
