uploading mutiple images/flickr

I couldn’t find this problem in the forum, so I thought I’d throw it out there and see if I’m the only one having a hard time with this…

I have no problem uploading images, but if I want more than one and I don’t want it next to the first (but in the middle of text further down the page), it just doesn’t happen. The second image appears at the top of the blog entry, next to the first, however when I try to drag it in place, it won’t move more than one line away from the first image. Any hints?

I also can’t figure out how to upload more than one Flickr image per entry.

If you center all the images they’ll appear one above the other. You can also use the Visual editor and put vertical spacing around them so they go in a line. Tinker with it.

You can’t drag images in WordPress. It just won’t work. Use HTML or the icons in the Visual editor to change their placement.

Actually, you can drag images in the visual editor. When you start to drag it, you should see a flashing cursor that’s marking the new insertion point in your text. Try it again and watch where the cursor goes.

Also, the editor inserts the image wherever your cursor is when you click “Send to Editor”, so try clicking where you want the picture in the text before clicking the button.

Re: Flickr – you know you don’t need to upload those images to WordPress, right? You just use the image URL to insert it (use the Code editor for this).

    1. If the image is on your Flickr account, click on “All Sizes” above the image on its Flickr page, then click on whichever size you want (i recommend thumbnail or small). Flickr will give you the necessary code in a box below the image, just copy & paste.
    2. If the image is on someone else’s account (and that person has authorized a Creative Commons license allowing others to use it), you can use the Flickr image page URL and the specific URL for the image by itself (right-click on the image to get its URL). Insert them in your post using the Code editor in this format (where the href is the Flickr image page and src is the image URL):
      <a href="http://flickr.com/photos/k1000/323909521/" title="Atlanta skyline"><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/131/323909521_126a695e56.jpg?v=0" alt="Atlanta skyline" align="right" /></a>

That totally doesn’t work on my computer. I’m using IE6. I can cut and paste, but not drag.

Really? I had no idea. It works with Firefox 2.0.0.3 on my Mac. Good to know it’s not universal, thanks.
