Uploading .pdf
-
Hey folks –
I’ve had no trouble in the past posting .pdfs – but am having no luck today. I go through the steps (add media, select the file) – but it’s not turning out in my posts. Can anyone help?
Thanks –
Matt

Before inserting it into the post, make sure and click on the “file URL” button so that it will make a link to the PDF. After you once make the “file URL” selection wordpress will remember that selection the next time you insert something.

On another issue: I think your page takes too long to load (especially if one has a slow connection), because you have too many items linking to other sites (you get the combined delay of those sites loading). You should consider setting a lower number of posts per page.
-
Set the number of posts that show on the page at settings > reading. Make sure and click “save changes” when done.

Got it – link “File URL” – just what I needed – thanks, Sacred.
Regarding Panaghiotisadam input and Sacred’s suggestion – I don’t get it. Where do I change that setting, Sacred?
Thanks – -
In the left navigation setting in the dashboard, click on “settings” then click on “reading” and then change the number in the box to the left of “Blog pages show at most” and then click “save changes” at the bottom of the page.
And you are welcome.

Continuing the ignorance: Change the number to higher or lower? It seems like a smaller number will allow the page to upload quicker. That’s what I’m after?
Again, thanks – -
