uploading photos

Hi all,
I really need help here! I’ve only just deleted tons of photos from my media library, and they’re all gone from my posts. I deleted them only because I’ve apparently used up all 3gb of storage space, even though I only had about 350 photos in all in that library.
I’ve been googling, and apparently shit like that only happens if you stupidly upload the original file or something like that?
The thing is, I am a total tech noob and don’t know how NOT to upload photos in its original file size! This is probably something incredibly obvious but if someone could just let me know how to do that (so I can have “up to thousands of photos” with my 3gb) I’d be really grateful.

It’s really easy. There are online places that do it http://www.resizemypicture.com/ or you can download software to do it (I think even Paint can do it; it’s guaranteed to be in your camera software too). http://download.cnet.com/Jpeg-Resizer/3000-12511_4-75795903.html
You might be able to find your old images in a Google cache of your blog. Search for your blog name, then click Cached Version and see if you can copy the images from there. It takes them a few days or weeks to delete them.
