Uploading photos to wordpress

When I upload a a vertical photo to wordpress and try to crop the edges it ends up cropping a big chunk from the top right of the picture. A chunk that i did not attempt to crop myself .This only happens when I upload as and try to crop a vertical picture. Horizontal pictures are ok. How can this be fixed as it wasnt happening in the beginning.?

I’ve tagged this for Staff attention on the online image cropping issue.
I’d also like to suggest that you do any image editing prior to uploading the image to your WordPressdotcom website. When you upload an image and then edit it online on your site, both the original image you uploaded and the edited image count against your storage space.

Hi @hellocorkweekend, can you clarify whether this is happening with featured images only, or whether it’s also happening when you insert images into your content area?
Also, can you send a link to an affected post or page?
