Uploading picture from iphone

    Help!! Two issues: I know size is issue. Suggestions on how to reduce picture size taken with iPhone so I do not get error signal. Also iPhone now stores pixs using HEIC rather than jpeg. Suggestions on how to easily change format?

    Hi there,

    There are various HEIC to JPG online converters which will do this but you can also convert them using an app directly on your iPhone. I’ve previously used one named The Image Converter.

    In terms of reducing the size of the image, if you are referring to file size, I find that TinyPNG is an excellent tool. You can upload a WebP, PNG or JPG image and this compresses the image, for you to download, with minimal loss of quality.

    Hi there, besides apps to decrease your image sizes, when you upload an HEIC image from Safari or our app https://apps.wordpress.com/mobile/ iOS will automatically convert it to a JPEG. :)

    Yes, I see that when I upload (to WordPress) a photo from my iPhone to iPad it coverts to jpeg BUT I get error as the file is often too large. Need suggestion on how to reduce size of photo to get word press to upload properly. Thanks!

    Hi there,

    If you are wanting to resize your image on your actual photos, there are apps such as Image Size that will allow you to decrease the size of the image and image file. There are other hacks that would help decrease your image, but an app may be the best bet.
