Uploading pictures

I downloaded pictures from my camera onto my laptop and when i try to upload them into one of my posts its says that their is an error that has occurred. Why is this happening.

There are generally a few things that cause this issue:
1) The file size of the image is too large – If your image files are large, you can optimize them before you try uploading them, here’s a link for instructions on optimizing: https://en.support.wordpress.com/media/image-optimization/2) Your connection is slow
3) There is a problem between your computer and the WordPress.com server. (Your connection goes through any number of hubs before it gets to WP and one problem along that line could be causing a problem.)
4) Your storage space is full – You are allotted 3GB of free space with a free WordPress.com account, once full, additional media cannot be added. You can purchase a Space Upgrade in order to gain more space for your site.
