@icon03
Is the upload section there in the write page? Have you cleared your browser cache and force reloaded the page? Since all I know is “because still I can’t, I’m guessing here.I offer the following just in case you may not be aware of these.
When creating and uploading an image to wordpress.com here are some basics worth remembering:
(1) Be sure your image is one of these file types – jpg, jpeg, png, gif (Note that bmp’s cannot be uploaded due to size).
(2) Do not use anything in the file name except letters and numbers. Use no spaces, no dashes, no underscores, or any type of special character or punctuation, except for the dot between the file name and the extension. Also make sure that the file name has an extension.
(3) If you are using iPhoto, then use the “export” function under the file menu to export the image to your desktop before trying to upload it to WordPress.
(4) If you are not using the image in thumbnail size, make sure that the image is not too wide for the post area in your particular theme. You can find maximum image widths for the most popular themes here: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/25/how-big-can-my-images-be/
(5) Optimize your images so that your blog pages will load faster. See http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/08/optimise-your-images/ -
Hello Sacredpath,

Thank You for your help it is much appreciated
And us my upload page shows. It’s when I hit send to editor does nothing
Nothing is working, I have been having this problem for the most of the day.

If it just doesn’t do the Send to Editor thing, you can work around it. Just get the URL of the image you want (under Edit) and then use that in the post, either with the img code or by using the Image icon, and just put the URL in the top line of the popup TinyMCE box. Does that make sense? Let me know if this works for you.

im having a problem….some images are the correct size in the post some are not…all images are exacly the same proportions, yet i am getting different sizes on the post..anyone?

Raincoaster thank you,
This is my first time doing any blogging so I don’t even know what you are talking about.
Under edit?
img code?
I will try, but no it doesn’t make sense.
Also, when you are writing a post when I save it, it is in code format, I did not do that before unless I clicked on “code” not it just does it. Even when I click the “visual button”
Thanks for your help
I think I know what this is.
I will try.

Okay, do this:
Go to uploads. Click on the image you want to put in. Then click on Edit. That will get you to a place that lists the URL of that image. Copy it. Then go up to your Write Post box, the part where you write the blog, where you want the image. Click where you want the image, then click the Image icon. You’ll get a popup box and you put the URL in the popup box, on the top line. That is how you do it using the visual editor, the one that is icon-based.
If you are using the code editor, you put it in like this:
<img src=URLofTheImage> -

The server’s been down for a while and things seem back to normal.
In case it helps you track down the glitch….
I started yesterday to upload a small picture to my blog. The upload window etc seemed to work totally normally except that the image was just a pale blue box and the image title appeared in the blog post where the image should have been.
The image was approx 50k jpeg, had no dodgy characters in the file name etc etc.
Since the server’s come back I’ve uploaded 2 images and all seems fine

Raincoaster,
Thank You, I would prefer to work in visual but my every time I try. I type it wont let me. I don’t understand this because it never did that before.
When I do put the code and put the url in (flowing the formula you gave me. I don’t get the picture or anything that pops up for that matter.
Also, when I click “browse” and find the picture in my computer, then click “upload” I don’t see the picture. I just see the name.
when I hit “send to editor” nothing.
Every time I hit send to editor nothing.
I am going to try the “code” way again, but I would like to have my “Visual” when I am writing a post, and My “send to editor working normally” It has been like this going into the second day now.
Thanks again,
Raincoaster,
I will read you post again to see if I missed something.

Experiencing issues as well. Brand new blog. Upload image, shown in the image window. Send to editor. In the result it doesn’t show. Blue box with ?
Deleted the image. Tried uploading again. Upload done supposedly but now it has a blue box with question mark right in the image browser … and I can’t delete the image.
Very odd! OS X 10.4.10. Safari 2. 50KB jpg image.

Might be related to full size no link send to editor?
As after changing that to full size page link, there is the image in the view site window.

icon03, what is the URL of your blog? I’m thinking it’s not a WP.com blog but an old version of independent WordPress.
Please ALWAYS give us a direct link to your blog when you have a problem, the whole URL starting with http:// so we can look at it and make specific suggestions.
You can set the Visual editor on your Profile page. Try that and hit Save Change (or Update, whichever one it says) and then try. It should use the visual editor. Sometimes it switches back to code for no reason we can figure out.
I thought you said you could upload it, but not send to editor? If you can’t even upload it, I think you need to talk to staff.

Thanks for all the advice. Yes, I was able to upload but then I would not see the picture in the box that I was uploading, so it was there but not there. Then when I was typing a post I didn’t have options such as: bold, spell-check, etc. That bar disappeared, and of course the “send to editor” would freeze.
My friend actually solved the puzzle. To make a long story short he said that if he is using my username and password, and we were NOT looking at the same screen, (we did this over the phone) and he could send pictures to upload and send to editor from his computer, that there was something wrong with MY COMPUTER!, he then said he knew what the problem was. I needed to download Firefox… you know, Mozilla. Anyway, I did, and wordpress looks totally different, and I can do all the things that wasn’t working, Thanks Raincoaster, you were very patient and very helpful, You took time to help out. Well Raincoaster and Thescacredpath. Thank you! I am back in the blogosphere!
Next time I will give my link, I did not know that.

Congratulations! Firefox works very well with WordPress, and you’ll find things much easier. What were you using before? Safari? Safari and WordPress hate each other.
