Uploading problems

    FWIW The new Safari beta shows promise but there are still problems with the editor. The main problem is that it strips out the extra line between paragraphs. This of course is more of a TinyMCE problem than a Safari problem because TinyMCE still lists Safari support as “experimental”.

    I was using the Internet Explorer. It never gave me such a problem before. Go figure and quick question, I cant see my line graphs of stats . Actually, I cant see any stats (visual graphs) on posts period I dont think its firefox, it has been pretty good to me so far.Do you have any suggestions?

    Clear your browser cache and then reload the page and see what happens. At times I lose the graph at the top, but it typically comes back in a little while.

    The stats thing might be your connection speed. If it’s too slow, it won’t load. And if you don’t have Flash installed, it won’t work either.

    Many photos on my blog are mysteriously disappearing. No rhyme nor reason. Sometimes they are there, other times not. My blog is http://dickiebo.wordpress.com Any ideas, please?

    Different issue, I think. If you do a search for “disappearing images” you’ll find several threads on the subject with different suggestions.

    I’m having what sounds like the same problem uploading .jpg photos to my blog: oldgreypoet.wordpress.com. I’m working in my archives for October 2002 and have now come across two photos, both small, which refuse to upload. I’ve checked on my hard disk and the files are fine. I’ve checked under ‘Browse All’ and the old familiar blue box shows, which I’ve deleted and tried again, several times. In between, several photos have uploaded just fine. I’m using MS IE 7.0.something under Vista Home premium, and have no intention of changing to anything else while 90% plus of my readers use IE.

    I’ll try clearing caches and histories, etc, but I’ve sat here for far too long this afternoon and need to go shopping… good luck, guys!

    @oldgreypoet
    Before uploading another copy of an image, change the name slightly such as adding a 1 or something to the end of the file name. If you try to upload the image with the same name as the one you deleted from your uploads, funny things happen. It shouldn’t really, but it does. You will then have to edit the post and correct the URL to the new copy of the photo you just uploaded.

    What kind of files are they? JPEG? BMPs won’t work; for whatever reason, WP doesn’t like them.

    The issue of overwriting of image file names that thesacredpath points to is an important one. So is the issue of the file type that raincoaster has pointed to. The only file types for image uploads are jpg, jpeg, png, gif. Another issue may be size.

    Perhaps this will help you as it covers many points

    We are running into the same problem…we had two computers right next to one another and one had the section showing where to upload photos and the other did not under write post.

    I assume that has to do with my comp. settings.

    Is Firefox the answer? Will clearing cache help?

    Any help would be appreciated.
